RSGB National Field Day (NFD) Contests

The first full weekend in June annually sees one of the most popular CW contests in the calendar, the RSGB National Field Day, or NFD for short.

Groups and clubs from around the country flock to the countryside setting up stations large and small to show how they can construct an effective operation off grid. One of the stipulations of NFD is that operations, even the kettle must be by means not involving mains electricity.

This event is one in which we, Stockport Radio Society has had some success over the years from our days operating from a site near to Woodford Airfield to the present hilltop farm site in the foothills of the Pennines. Always an enjoyable event come rain or shine particularly when it’s time to lock horns with other likeminded groups around the UK.

Please see below our recent NFD record of activity with links to other pages of interest.
