Meet your committee for 2026

We're pleased to introduce our new committee for 2025-26. Look out for us at the meetings, outdoor events, on Webex and on the air!

President
Tony Smithies
M0SAV

Tony has served on the committee for some years and is certainly most deserving of the title President of the society, remaining very actively involved in all aspects of the Society's work and taking a personal interest in each and every member. In the role of President Tony oversees the work of the committee and ensures we work within the constitution.

Chair
Nigel Roscoe
G0RXA

Nigel has served as Chair for several years and involved in the day to day operation of the Society. He has a passion for both radio and aviation and combines the two at meetings monitoring air traffic control at Ringway.

Vice Chair
Neil Rydings
M6NAE

Neil is newly appointed to the position of Vice Chairperson, but no stranger to the committee.  He's our "go to" person for whats happening within the ham radio industry and has a finger on the pulse of the major manufacturers and dealers.

Secretary
Nigel Smithies
M0VNL

Nigel (we have two Nigel's on the committee!) is our Secretary and makes sense of recording what happens in our meetings. He also is very active on the Air with digital modes and at outdoor events.

Treasure
Evan Duffield
M0TJU

Evan has been serving as our Treasurer for some time now and is also very active on air on the HF bands using the Society'Society's IC-7610 and with CW (morse) mode. He's the fellow to see to learn/practice morse!

Tracy Land
M7KVC

Tracy Is a fairly newcomer to the committee but confirmed as a full member. She's very active in organising events and looking for now activities for us to be involved in.

Ron Land
M7RJL

Ron is Tracy's other-half and newly appointed to the committee. Ron is active on satellites and space activities like QO-100 and the International Space Station. He also is a great supporter of outside events such as Bugsworth Basin British Inland Waterways events with Tracy.

Sarah Steinhoefel
2E0KUH

Sarah is a newcomer to the committee but a very welcome additional youger female perspective against what is often portrayed as an older male hobby. We're expecting great things from you Sarah!

Keith Sale
M0JYP

Keith has a wealth of operational skills and routinely prepares a HF activity report for us. He's the chap to talk to about on air etiquette and SSB operation.

Alan Gurnhill
G0ROW

Alan is a prolific operator, often on the HF bands clocking up QSL cards from around the worldworld. Chat with him about operational skills and etiquette.

Meeko Kittika
M0FVD

Yours truly, webmaster and recent committee member. I dabble with space comms and phone on HF bands and trace my intermittent activity in amateur radio back to the mid seventies as a Shortwave Listener.

Club Mascot
Gromit
GR0MIT

How could we ever forget the club mascot?! Tracy and Ron's very own Gromit!

2027  Committee
