Hello everyone

I thought I’d drop a message to the group to introduce myself as the Membership Secretary for the club.

A little bit about me for those who don’t know me so well…

I am 2E0KUH, except I never go on the air! I am married to Carsten (G0SYP) who clearly does all the exciting stuff when it comes to the hobby.

My interests are more around the science of how it all works and also the history. Not to mention space stuff, but don’t get me started on that, it could be a long email (yes, I am the one that has a small obsession with Saturn V rockets!)

I have been a member of the club for a while, well over 14 years I think now, and I’ve been licensed for over 13 years. I’ve decided that I might want to go for my full license, but watch this space.

So why am I getting in touch after being background dwelling member of the group for so long?  

The one thing that we need to make Stockport a successful club, is our members.

Over the years we’ve added a lot of things to the program, and now we have a number of varied events and activities taking place. The committee would like to know if that is working for you, and what you’d like to see going forward.

So that’s where I come in. As a returner to the committee, I am looking after everything membership related, I want to try and talk to every single member of the club. I want to find out about what you love, what you don’t like so much, how you got into radio etc. Basically, just have a good chat with you all to find out what makes you tick.

The idea is that armed with this info, we can start to offer more options that really work for you. Over the coming weeks, I’ll be getting in touch with you all personally. For those of you who come to the Saturday meetings, I’ll most likely talk to you there. However, I know that’s not accessible for everyone. For people who I don’t get to see personally, I’ll reach out via email first to see if you fancy a call or whatever.

There are quite a few of you, so it might take me some time!

Of course, looking after membership is more than just a chat about what you like, and there is no requirement on you to do this. So, if you don’t want to have a chat, that is totally fine. Just let me know.
